Veteran’s Ministry Notice for The Episcopal
Diocese of Massachusetts
Rob Bacon, formerly Youth Minister, is now coordinating Veteran’s Ministries.
Greetings Friends,
As you may know, we have embarked upon a new ministry with veterans here in the Diocese of Massachusetts. Approximately 1.7 million U.S. troops have been deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq since October 2001. These service members are coming home to our communities in large numbers, and we are learning what kinds of support are most useful during these challenging times of transition.
As we seek to build ministry communities around our Diocese it would be excellent to know who among us has a heart for veterans' ministries, who among us would like to lend their voice to the shaping of this new endeavor. Are you a vet? Do you have a family member, friend, or neighbor who has been affected by military service? Are you moved to share some thoughts on this subject? I would love to hear whatever you might like to send as a response to this message. Please write and tell me more.
PARISH PICTORIAL DIRECTORY
We are putting together a photo directory and we are working
on that database now. We are so pleased to know that our database will help
everyone put a name with the face and make that available to you. We would
like it if everyone (that wanted to) could bring in a picture of themselves
and/or their family photos. Or, stop by the office during hours and we can
take your picture. We’ll be taking group pictures along the way too,
Choir, Sunday School, Vestry!!! be prepared. Please feel free to call with
any questions. Office hours are Monday – Friday 9am to 1pm. We have
two options to get the pictures in you can drop one off and when we are done
you will get the original back. Our second option is to email me the pictures
directly to: admin@goodshepherd-reading.org
